Better water or faking water?

Hello. I am working on a fun dreamcore project for myself to test my own creativity.
I made a modular tiled wall pack for building poolrooms for my demo game “POOLROOMS”.
I have some questions though, I was wondering how to make the water more clear at the top of the box, and darker towards the end, and perhaps some ripples on it’s surface as objects move through it, and possibly the ability for some objects to float on it’s surface. If anyone has any ideas, I would be more then happy to test them out! as of now I have a few screenshots from a few recent versions of the launch:
