Tutorials!
I want to create webXR experiences.
Initially I was a 3DS Max / Unreal Engine user, but due to UE no longer compiles to HTML5 so I decided to go for Unity.
I was testing this PlayCanvas because the idea of having a simpler software, cheaper, and that compiles webXR to host in our own websites…
The reality is that your tutorial page does not contain tutorials but rather examples, I am finding harder to do what I want / need and to debug as well in PlayCanvas than unity. (I.e. It took me just a few minutes to create an AR app with image tracking in unity, in PlayCanvas I get error of “Cannot import statement outside a module”, and a google search just gives way too many causes and solutions).
It also feels that I need to know more code in PlayCanvas than in unity.
The only thing that makes this software a possible option is the price.
My issues can be just the lack of “know how” (I am a cgi artist, not a coder or web designer) so my sugestion is to create proper tutorials not just provide examples, I tried the software just 1 day, and will get back to unity because there is nothing teaching how to use PlayCanvas.
