Localization of Entities (audio, images, ...)

We are currently working on an experience which has 2 sets of dialogues for German and English.
I already implemented the translation of text with the pc integrated translation system.
What would be a good strategy to translate the audio sources, and maybe images?

My first guess is to use
app.i18n.getText()
https://developer.playcanvas.com/en/api/pc.I18n.html#locale
to read out custom values, which instead of holding text could hold the filenames of the audios or image assets.

But is this a good overall strategy, and is there already a kind of “language change event” which I could hook into?

Thanks in advance.

There is a private event that you could hook onto: https://github.com/playcanvas/engine/blob/master/src/i18n/i18n.js#L329

In terms of non text assets like images etc, not sure what the best strategy is there to be honest :thinking: Anything I can think of offhand is rather hacky. Perhaps you can do a customised version of ‘find’ on the assets registry that would be able to find a localised version of an asset
