Hotspots around a gaussian splat

Hi, I’m experimenting with adding hotspots scattered around a gaussian splat for a virtual tour. I’ve tried using both image elements and plane renders with a texture. The former give me visibility through the splat, that is - I can see hotspots blocked by the splat content, but the latter give me popping and unreliable sorting towards the splat. They also turn black from certain angles.

How is this behaviour governed? How are layers involved?

Any best practice here, or ways to think about this I’ve missed?

@slimbuck worked on similar stuff just last week

OH. I might have worked in vain. Just saw in this thread there is a new branch of v2 supersplat-viewer with support for annotations? Discord

Is that what you meant?

yes that’s where the support for added.

v2 schema in supersplat viewer 1.8.3 solves this neatly! I’ll keep exploring that code, good work @slimbuck!

Looking good! I’ve added an inputhandler to listen for LeftArrow and RightArrow to move to the next or previous annotation. I think that coupled with a nice lerp would make this a very nice “3D slideshow”
