FBX Upload generates faulty container on a new branch

Hi everyone!
We have a weird issue. I have branched away from the main branch which included existing fbx files. When I try to overwrite the existing fbx files, but on the new branch, they generate a faulty container file (red circle indicating the container file has an issue).
We now have to create a new asset and manually replace the old one.
This doesn’t happen on the original branch where the fbx were created. It happens to other users on the project as well, so it’s not just one user. It also happens to several files, both static models and animations with joints.

Has anyone observed this behavior before?
Is it now even safe to branch back into the old branch?

Thanks!

I want to add: it’s very easy to replicate in any project. Just add something to the current branch, then branch away and try to replace the fbx. You get the circle of death.
