I just upgraded to Personal, and according to the pricing plans, this allows exporting projects for self hosting:

Which seems rather suspect, since the main reason I paid was to be able to export projects (I’m working on a multiplayer game and want to host the client and the server on the same place).
Yeah, this is a little unclear. The feature you are looking at is the ‘archive’ feature (despite the the fact it says ‘export’ in the error message) which allows you to export the project ‘as is’ and import back into another or the same PlayCanvas project at a later date.
To ‘export for self hosting’, you need to go into the ‘Publish’ menu in the scene editor:
