Engine only level design

Hi guys,

i’ve always wondered how people, who are not using the editor, are designing their levels. With designing i mean, do they just trial and error translate and rotate their objects in their code and hope, that it fits in their game preview? I mean they have no editor to move objects with their mouse to the exact position of how they actually want it. So how do they figure it out?

They are likely to have their own toolset to edit and export levels.

Well, this question seems to fit into General or Random Chat. But still that’s a great question. From what I know of, people who don’t use editors like PlayCanvas, usually either create their own with their toolsets or they use external software.
