AR - image tracking

Hello everyone!

I’m wondering if image tracking is possible in PlayCanvas. Have anyone tried it yet?

There are several options available:

  • Using AR Toolkit with a custom marker. It’s a bit old now and there have been some mixed results from other users with images: https://playcanvas.com/project/481413/overview/ar-starter-kit

  • Using 8th Wall with PlayCanvas. Works on both iOS and Android but has a license cost: https://www.8thwall.com/

  • WebXR Image tracking. This has not yet been released (planned for 1.38.0). Will only work on Android using the new WebXR API.
