Announcing the PlayCanvas glTF Viewer

Hi everyone! Big announcement today. We’ve hit 100% spec compliance for glTF 2.0, and to celebrate we’ve launched (and open sourced) our glTF Viewer.

Read about it on the blog:

How can your help? Can you retweet our announcement?

If I drag a gltf model from my local drive to the playcanvas viewer on my browser, do the files get uploaded to a server, or is everything handled locally? The reason I ask is that I can’t have sensitive assets leave my local network.

Everything is processed on your local machine. Nothing is sent over the network. If you want, you can even clone the viewer’s repo, build it locally and serve it locally. But there’s no necessity to do that.

Awesome! Thanks for the quick response and the very useful viewer tool. It’s the only one I could find that visualizes the normals on my gltf exports.
