Add assignable skill level tags for accounts

As brutal as I am I usually try to do my best in helping other people around here. Often I find people claiming my questions or advice is far too harsh, sometimes my posts are even removed (one of them was removed for advertising which is bizarre).

Perhaps they are right. I struggle in understanding other people have different knowledge than I do. I just assume that everyone has about the same skillset as I do, which is why I tend to interrogate people on their apparent mistakes because the changes needed to improve are often obvious to me. I often ask repeatedly why they made the decisions they did, such as “why is the scale of this object not correct”, or “why does the attribute not have a proper value”, when in reality they probably dont know themselves because they werent decisions in the first place, they were simply results of their lack of knowledge. They dont know why objects have weird scales, or why attributes are not assigned, or why an object has 30 useless empty child entities because they dont know what those are or how they work.

I always try to do my best at steering people into the right direction, but it seems like most people here that I respond to dont need my best, they just need some simple assistance. My expectations for people are often far too high.

Perhaps if there was some sort of tag users could add to their forum account that states their self appraised skill level that would be great in modifying my response to a level that actually makes sense. Until then I will just ask people what their skill level is before I try helping people.

There are no plans for adding such a feature.
