Better model placing via raycast

I’m not sure if this was brought up before but placing models onto a scene - so any kind of level design is a bit painful since models are always placed at 0,0,0 and additionally the camera gets centered on them.
This could be greatly improved with a raycast inside the editor which would simply place the object at the hit location without any camera movement.
